Comments: WO97 FILES: Footguards Footguards A to Z 1760-1854 The C-D file only goes through last names beginning with DAY--.
I am looking for a Henry H. Dean, b. 05MAY1784 somewhere in Kent. The data I have says that he was drafted into the army and served under
Wellington in the Napoleonic wars, and that his regiment (never identified) was sent to Canada in 1814 for the war against the USA 1812-1815.
The war ended before his regiment entered combat and he was discharged and subsequently left Canada and settled in New York.

Comments: Help me find the family of William HENLEY I am trying to trace the family of my GGGgrandparents the only information I have on the
family is as follows: William HENLEY in 1823 he was married and in the St Helena Artillery? His wife's name is undecipherable.
A daughter Esther HENLEY born 16 July 1823 St Helena British Subject I have searched WO 97 to no avail as I do not know when/where he
enlisted or discharged. I do not even know his DOB or even what unit he was in. Can you help with where to look or details of his service.
I am finding it very hard as all I know of William Henley is his name & that he is my Gr/Gr/Gr Grandfather as Esther HENLEY is my Gr/Gr/Grandmother.

Yours Brian M Morley Sunny Ipswich Queensland Australia

Comments: Thank you very much for a most informative site. For ten years now I have been researching my GGrandfather and I know his father was William. I found several here but do not know what to do next - your advice would be greatly appreciated. If you could just point out to you that the information on the right of your Web site eg where it says name is so dark you cannot read what it is asking you to put into the boxes. I feel someone who is computer iliterate would be quite lost.
